Health issues: Health is one of the biggest problems faced by humanity in terms of cost as growing populations become more concerned with ever increasing health issues. Not only are populations getting statistically older, they are getting statistically less healthy. Why? There are many contributing factors, diet, stress, exposure to carcinogens, lack of exercise, lack of motivation, high expectations, attitude, environment, genetics, and of course the ever expanding cost of healthcare and insurance. Certainly medical science is helping to prolong life, which is a contributing factor to the number of people seeking healthcare. Unfortunately, with this longevity comes a general deterioration in the quality of life for a larger percentage of the population. If people aren’t truly healthy, we may question the reasons and the motivations of an ever expanding and costly healthcare system.
Realizing healthcare is big business, apparently more concerned with profits than compassionate humanitarianism, it might make you question why the system is in crisis. The idea that good health can be doled out by government by making healthcare more readily assessable to the masses is a concept that skirts the real issues.
